Lectures on the Ceremonies of the Traditional Latin Mass

Fr. Eric Forbes OFMCap offering the TLM in Parish of the Lord of Divine Mercy, Diocese of Cubao, on the Second Sunday after Easter, 2011.

The Rev. Fr. Eric Forbes, OFM Cap - in coordination with Societas Ecclesia Dei Sancti Joseph - shall give a talk on "The Ceremonies of the Holy (Tridentine) Mass Explained" on the following dates:

August 14, 2012 at 7pm, 3/F Tan Yan Kee Student Center, Pontifical University of Santo Tomas, España, Manila (originally scheduled for August 9)

August 13, 2012 at 3pm, St. Maximilian Seminary, Multinational Village, Parañaque City

Fr. Eric Forbes OFM Cap. is the celebrant of the every-Sunday Traditional Latin Mass in St. Fidelis Capuchin Friary at 135 Chalan Kapuchino, Agana Heights, Guam 96910. It is the sole regular TLM in Guam. He regularly visits the Philippines.

Who we are

Societas Ecclesia Dei Sancti Joseph (SEDSI) -- known until early 2012 as Ecclesia Dei Society of St. Joseph or EDSSJ -- was founded (as the Latin Mass Society of the Philippines) on December 18, 1987 to promote and defend access to the older forms of the Roman Rite in the Philippines, but always in alignment with and in obedience to the canonical norms and lawful ecclesiastical authorities of the Roman Catholic Church. In 2010 it became part of Foederatio Internationalis Una Voce.

SEDSI is currently based in Holy Family Parish, Madre Selva St. cor. Lilac St., Roxas District, Quezon City. From late 2006 until January 18, 2012 it had its home in the Parish of the Lord of Divine Mercy. Both are parishes of the Diocese of Cubao (suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Manila). In Holy Family Parish, Mass according to the 1962 Missal is said every Sunday and on most weekdays as well.

Members of SEDSI also assist with other TLM's (whether one-off or regularly scheduled Masses) in Metro Manila and rest of the Philippines, either in their official or in their personal capacities.

Members of SEDSI are very active in other religious causes in addition to the promotion of the older forms of the Roman Rite. Some are active in the pro-life movement, others in promoting devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and various saints.
